(you might have to move horizontally to read it)
composed spring 2024.
by hand.
i drew lines,
then segmented them at regular intervals,
so the deposition of letters causes words to come into focus.
i've always had an affinity for concrete poetry, but unfortunately, most of it doesn't sing to me.
nevertheless, i ended up finding a nice anthology last spring (the one by emmett williams) but if ur not a total freak like me, you might not see the appeal.
actually, looking through a pdf of it, it was kinda funny, because i was super into the history of graphic design that fall, and if you read the first superabundance, i had named my radio show TEMPO TEMPO TEMPO TEMPO, after a design from Moholy-Nagy. i thought i was soooo cool, totally the shit, & then i found this anthology, and it seems like a good chunk of the designs were also based on that, or sth similar. i always wonder how memes spread back then.
i think my favorite poem in the anthology was IHF's xm poem. i hope this link works in the future. apparently his poem was not concrete, but "fauve," whatever that means.
that's basically it. i hope you like the poem(s)!
